The Pasco Stars
"The Pasco Stars" softball team will be representing Florida in the Special Olympics National Invitational Softball Tournament August 26th - 28th in Elgin, Illinois. There will be 28 Special Olympics softball teams participating from all over the United States and Canada. The team is made up of all star softball players from Dade City, Zephyrhills, and Wesley Chapel. Our 14 guys and 1 girl have been participating together in Special Olympics softball for the past several years, and have spent the summer working very hard training and fund raising for this once in a lifetime trip.
The members of our team include Coralea Atienza, Christian Matea, Ross Cleveland, Dolapo Adetutu, Mike Dunn, Kenny Carriveau, Ernie Shultz, Scott Walter, Grant Bateman, Andres Torres, Phillip Olson, Chris Allen, Brian Starnes, John Algood, and Tony Wiggins. The Stars are coached by Judy Brunner, Belinda Brown, John Edwards, and Keith Smith.
The team will be flying to Chicago on Thursday, August 25th, and returning on Monday, August 29th. Good luck Stars. Make Pasco and Florida proud!
